Wedding Guest in a Red Lace Dress

Hello Spring!

For as long as I can remember, spring has been the season that excites me the most. There's something magical about the rejuvenating atmosphere that spring ushers in after a harsh northeastern winter. As a student, spring meant that school was finally coming to a close, and that summer was around the corner. Now that I'm a 20-something year old adult, spring has become synonymous with the start of wedding season! Whether it's a coworker, friend, or acquaintance - I feel like everyone that I know is getting hitched! I'm a strong believer in putting my best foot forward when dressing for weddings, as couples pour a great amount of time and money into planning their big day, so today I'm sharing one of my favorite wedding guest looks of 2017 - the red lace dress.

Why Red?

As a child, I watched my parent's wedding video every Saturday morning. I loved watching it over and over because my parents looked so happy! They got married the day after Valentine's Day, and my mom dressed her bridesmaids in the prettiest red dresses that I had ever seen (after her dress of course). I would oftentimes imagine myself as one of my mom's bridesmaids, and the color stuck with me ever since. When I laid eyes on this red dress, it was love at first sight!

I adore this dress because it's extremely romantic. The lace detail coupled with the warm red hue is perfect for spring and summer celebrations of love. I'm also a huge fan of the adjustable straps. I can't resist a hint of glam, so I layered some gold accents into the look for ultimate spring vibes. Fun fact: the clutch that I'm wearing is actually a vintage clutch that my mom bought years ago in London for a wedding that she was attending! See how I dress it down here.
