Did I Swipe Left on My Husband?
Questions That Need Answers
I’m not shy when it comes to talking about my love life. It’s also no secret that I’m a social butterfly. So last week, when my co-workers asked me why I was excited to be attending a few Congressional Black Caucus events, I answered honestly - “because my husband might be there.” Just as I was patting myself on the back for garnering a few laughs with my cheeky response, one of my co-workers muttered, “I’m pretty sure I swiped left on my husband already!” The room erupted with laughter, but I couldn’t help but wonder, “Have I swiped left on my future husband?” Cue mini panic attack.
First Things First
Before I go any further let’s get one thing straight. I don’t view getting married as something that I have to do to live a happy life, and I’m not pressed to spend my life with just anyone for the sake of fitting into society’s social norms. But I’m also not going to sit here and lie to you… as a woman in my mid-twenties, it is something that I think about. I guess what I’m trying to say is this - I identify as a strong independent woman that don’t need no man, but on second thought having a man does sound kind of nice.

Dating In The Digital Age
Dating in the digital age can be pretty overwhelming, so I make a conscious effort to use platforms that align with my personal beliefs. When it comes to dating apps, Bumble is my favorite because it pushes the envelope on making meaningful connections. Bumble’s commitment to shifting antiquated gender dynamics fosters equality by empowering women to make the first move. It’s also not just about dating. The app has three modes: Bumble Date, Bumble BFF, and Bumble Bizz. So whether you’re looking to start a romantic relationship, make new gal pals, or grow your professional network, Bumble has you covered. It’s truly one of a kind, so if my husband is out here in these dating app streets, he’s probably right here with me on Bumble Avenue.
So Did You Swipe Left On Your Husband or Nah?
Sometimes I swipe so quickly that I do accidentally send some cuties to the left - but you know what? It doesn’t matter if I’ve swiped left on my future husband or not. Why? Because if he’s meant to be my husband, he will be! That’s just how it works. Swiping left on your future husband (or wifey) is not a kiss of spinster death, but rather a fun plot twist in the story of how you’ll meet - so relax and enjoy the ride!
Happy Swiping!
Life is short, so no matter what you’re looking for, I hope you are safe and have fun throughout your pursuit. I also encourage you to give Bumble a try if you haven’t already done so. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. For more thoughts on dating, click here! Until next time babes.
